whether to euthanize him. on friday the 78-year-old woman was attacked by the pit bull outside her home. she is in the icu at bayview medical center. doctors had to do major reconstruction after the dog ripped her lip and a huge part of her face. animal behaviorist says no matter the breed, pets need to release energy or it could mean trouble especially for pit bulls. a veterinarian will do every day exercise was unfamiliar people like petting, walking, restraining on a leash to determine if the dog returns home or has to be euthanized. >> i think there's a lot more humane ways to teach a dog not to run out your door. you can do that in a couple minutes with obedience training. >> reporter: the owner received 3 citations for not keeping the dog on a leash and not having records of vaccination and not having a pet license. it add up to about $550 and once again, we will learn more information at a news conference later this morning.

sherrie johnson, abc2 news. all right. so far no charges have been filed against a father who police say admitted to shooting and killing a pit bull in his neighborhood. this happened sunday morning on oriole court in severn. detectives say that the man's dog was unleashed when it got into a fight with another pit bull that was on a leash. the father came out and ended up shooting the other dog to stop him from fighting that dog and that dog later died. animal control has the other pit bull. today, defense continues in the case of the baltimore city police office are accused of cigkilling a marine. the officer is accused of shooting tyrone brown outside a mount vernon bar last summer. the defense insist tshamba shot in self-definances but the state says brown was shot multiple times he's was retreating. no jury in the case. final judgment is going to be hand down by a judge. take a look at this picture because baltimore county police need your help tracking down this guy.

23-year-old ronald preston climbed through a window allegedly, attempting to sexually assault a woman. when she woke up, it happened in white march be in april. anyone with information should contact metro crime stoppers at 866-7-lockup. people who live in harford in cecil county says the toll increase proposal targets them and they say it's not fair. the hatem bridge carries route 40 over the susquehanna river and the toll is $5. just like i-95. but the hatem bridge use a decal system. regular users pay $10 a year for the dekale -- decal giving them unlimited trips. and the maryland transportation authority's proposed plan would eliminate that system and drivers would have to sign up for ez pass unlimited transportation across the bridge costing $36 a year. -- transportation across the bridge costing $356 a year.

plane flying along on the highway. and this is not just any plane. it's the famous one that made the miracle landing on hudson. all 155 passengers on the plane made it out safely. the plane is now heading to the phonal destination in aviation museum in charlotte, north carolina. it left -- final destination at an aviation museum in charlotte north carolina. hundreds came out to catch a glimpse of the rare sight. >> it's like a train. if you never seen a train wreck or anything like that, it's the same thing or a boat. they said queen mary was coming down delaware and we missed it by a few hours. >> reporter: so get your cameras ready. look out in your rear view mirror if you are heading to work, because there's a chance you can catch the plane. it will hit the road after the morning rush hour. head down i-95 and it's in perryville and will head down i-

11 minutes after 5. a unique look at the tornado that ripped through springfield, massachusetts last week. these pictures are from a surveillance camera at a car wash. you can see the winds started to pick up and throw the debris around. it's amazing images. we will keep seeing them as the days go by. as we go to lynette with a check of your forecast, i wanted to ask about this. remember back to joplin and tuscaloosa and springfield, we getting a lot of great video of the storms. television stations are doing a better job of tracking them and giving you visuals of them as they come through. lynette are you noticing that? >> yes. i am noticing that. as a matter of fact, i wanted

to tell you i think i want to be a tornado chaser. i really do. i love the weather. and i really think that is interesting. i don't like fact that the devastation that it does, but i like the fact of the tornado chasing and hurricane hunter since we are in hurricane season. let's talk about what's going on right now. maryland's most powerful radar not picking up on a whole lot. we should stay dry for the most part going throughout the day. i will monitor the situation coming off lake heron in a few minutes. but the temperature in elkton is at 63. and we are at 67 in millersville and 60 de-- or 67 to annapolis and millersville coming in at 60 degrees. as we check your forecast hour by hour today, as we go into lunchtime, 86. if you take the warmer temperatures you can eat the lunch outdoors and by # p.m., the temperatures come in around 90. we might see a little more haze in the sky today because we do have the air quality alert. we have a code orange and that means that it is unhealthy for sensitive groups and if you

we will feel it. but 88 degrees yesterday in richmond. close to 90 degrees. but basically 80sy where. new york around 82 and philly coming in right around 83. our temperatures right now, 62 degrees in baltimore. and 6 # in richmond and norfolk coming in around 66. altuna at 62 right now. and pittsburgh at 67. so, we will talk about the dew points because this is going to be very important especially going through the next several days. so right now we are looking at a dew point at around 60 at the inner harbor. getting into the 60s you can feel it out there. and we are looking at 50s though the further back towards the east that you go or west rather that you go. 55 in hagerstown and york. now this is going to change. it will pick up more going throughout the day and especially tomorrow. dew points the measure of the moisture in the air and the higher they are the more humid it feels. the satellite and radar not picking up on a whole lot a few clouds trying to get a little bit closer to us. but all in all, we are going
